From new content to new accessibility features, our team at Visible Body is constantly updating our products to reach more students, cover more topics, and enhance learning.
Let’s take a look at the most recent Visible Body updates!
The new model orientation feature in Visible Body Suite means that you can turn your view into a cadaver lab simulation!

From any gross anatomy view, click on the supine or prone options in the info box, and ta-da! Instant lab simulation! You can swap between supine, prone, and anatomical positions, and you can also remove the table with a single click.
This feature makes it even easier to simulate dissections. Want to learn more about using Visible Body for virtual labs? Check out this blog post!
Here at Visible Body, 3D models are our bread and butter—but VB Suite also contains a wealth of 2D content, including histology slides and illustrations. New illustrations have recently been added to VB Suite!
Anatomical terminology. You can find illustrations that help students learn anatomical planes, positions, directional terms, and terms of movement. With this foundation, students will be able to describe the body more accurately. Check out this blog post for information on how to use Visible Body to teach terminology and vocabulary.

Anatomical variants. This series of twelve new illustrations describes anatomical variants, from head (circle of Willis variations) to toe (accessory foot ossicles and sesamoids)! Anatomical variants are common, though they’re not always reflected in anatomy textbooks. With these illustrations, students can better understand and visualize these differences.

Here’s a sneak peek behind the scenes—our team is finishing up work on two new premade Courseware assignments that cover both of the above topics! The anatomical terminology assignment covers the “front of the book” vocabulary that is so crucial to understanding A&P, and the new anatomical variant assignment will walk students through the common anatomical variants they will encounter in their future careers.
Because Visible Body is dedicated to constant improvement, we’re dedicated to customer feedback. Not only does feedback shape the creation process, it drives us to update our products to make them the best they can be.
This past month saw over 25 updates that fixed bugs and provided some clarifications. For example, vessel and nerve names now contain labels specifying whether the structure is an artery, vein, or nerve, since many of these share names.
One other standout update is the enhanced skin textures of our pig and frog models, making labs more immersive!
