Virtual science. Real humans at work.

Learn who we are

We are Visible Body

Visible Body produces apps and software used by over a million students, educators, and healthcare professionals around the world. We use 3D visuals, micro-lessons, and game-like interactivity to make studying anatomy and biology faster, easier, and more engaging.

Our in-house team is made up of:

Biomedical visualization experts who hold advanced degrees in the art and science of communicating complex human biology.

Educational publishing executives and teachers with decades of experience in instructional design.

Programmers and software architecture gurus who have written over a million lines of code to efficiently and seamlessly deliver our content across multiple platforms.

Customer service and sales professionals who reach across the globe and listen to what the healthcare community needs.

Visible Body is headed by brothers CEO Andrew Bowditch and CFO Matthew Bowditch. Building upon the success of the educational publishing business they founded 20 years ago, Visible Body was launched in 2007 and remains a privately held, independent venture.

We partner with educators to help students succeed

Visible Body software is used by millions of learners and educators around the world. Instructors and students who use Visible Body report higher student engagement, better retention, and improved grades.

Visible Body’s content and software is only as good as the people who use it to educate. We are incredibly proud of the community our user base has created in the education world.

At Visible Body, exemplary customer support is a promise. We partner with instructors and academic institutions to provide personalized, ongoing service. We train educators and continually adapt our software to meet the needs of todays’ learners.

Behind the scenes:
How we create our content

Our commitment to accuracy is second to none

Accuracy is critical in creating and sharing our content with the world. After all, meaningful learning can happen only with credible and comprehensive resources.

Once our in-house team has created new content, it is reviewed by an outside team of professors and professionals who have particular expertise that matches what is being reviewed. Our team discusses critiques and recommendations with the outside team, then refines the content as needed. Before it’s released for the public, finalized content is further reviewed by a test group of expert users.

We have an amazing community of reviewers and contributors

Visible Body’s biomedical visualization and pedagogy development teams work closely with science educators and healthcare practitioners to develop content that is accurate and scalable across multiple levels of learning.

Many of these professors and healthcare practitioners send us suggestions for improvements, corrections, or new ideas. We greatly appreciate all those who contribute their time and expertise. This list includes a small snapshot of recent reviewers.

Want to join our team?

Here at Visible Body, virtual anatomy and physiology is created by real human beings. We do not outsource our core work. Instead, you’ll find us all working, creating, and exchanging ideas side by side in a creative, dynamic environment.

While our apps and software are used across the globe, our team is situated just outside of Boston, a city known for its world-class universities, hospitals, and technology companies. We draw on the energy and expertise of our environment to do what we do at the highest level possible.

We are always looking for additional smart, skilled and passionate people to join us on our journey along the cutting edge.
